LARP is the abbreviation of Live-Action-Role-Play.
But what is this Larp? Well, Larp is a role-playing game in which the participant portrays a fictional character from a fantasy world. In doing so he meets other players doing exactly the same. It's like an improvisation theatre – just without the audience. The game is supported by NPCs (Non-Player Characters). They act in a prescribed role, to drive the story into a certain direction and to make short incidents happen. The game as a whole is coordinated by the referees. They watch not only over the rules, but also are ready to answer questions by the players, and coordinate the actions of NPCs. The total aim is to have fun at a shared playing experience, and to experience adventures in a controlled environment to discover oneself as a completely different person. »
