Attention! Take part as Counselor and/or Marshal !!!
Finally, we have compiled a solution to our well-known problem of never having enough referees (and almost everyone striving to be a player at the same time). You and we can ease the life of our estimated game masters by adopting several sub tasks of a referee so they can focus on the realization of a plot more easily. "Counselor": What's a Counselor? A Counselor is a common player who's willing to answer general questions on IT-playing and to provide help to newbies. This includes questions like What means ...? How do I enact ... accordingly? How do I best ...? A Counselor decides on his time of „availability“ by his own: when wearing one of our official badges (a sash) he's addressable with such questions, otherwise, he is not. As every referee, each Counselor is encouraged to take part at courses we are hosting at a couple of weekends in the run-up to the event and on the Monday and Tuesday before the main day of arrival of the players (the precise dates will be communicated by email). For an application as Counselor, please send a mail to counselor@drachenfest.info . "Marshal": A Marshal supports the referees in providing additional security services at battles. For instance, Marshals are in charge of preventing IT-injured to lay down on the ground near the battle lines, stopping fights in areas that are off-limits (between tents, e.g.) or clearing the way for the medics in case of OT-injuries. In doing so, a marshal does not absorb the referees role in battles but rather takes care of the security of the combatants. Like a Counselor, also a Marshal decides by his own at which times he is willing to assume the role – to be identifiable, he will wear an official referee cap in times of duty. Example: There's a battle between Camp Silver and the Camp of the Orcs. A Marshal, being part of Camp Gold, decides to support the referees involved, puts on his cap and joins them in supervising the battle. A Marshal is required to participate in our courses regarding „Battles and Security“ that take place at a couple of weekends in the run-up to the event and on the Monday and Tuesday before the main day of arrival of the players (the precise dates will be communicated by email). For an application as a Marshal, please send a mail to marshal@drachenfest.info . »
